It’s going to be great! I’m very excited about dancing in Oxfordshire’s Central Library in Oxford which re-opens just before Christmas. The dance is on Tuesday 19 December. We’re creating a dance using contact improvisation and as ever, most of the work is in the preparation. Here’s the details if you’d like to join us!
This is the email which has been distributed from Oxford Contact Dance with the details:
Invitation to dance in the library (Tue. 19 Dec)
To celebrate the opening of Oxfordshire’s Central Library in the rebuilt Westgate Centre then we are inviting dancers to join us to dance in the library on Tue. 19 Dec. between 5 and 6pm. Please note that it’s ESSENTIAL that you contact us if you are interested in participating.
Everyone is welcome to take part but you need to have attended a workshop for it on Sunday 17 December and – if you have little or no experience of contact improvisation – a refresher evening on Tuesday 12 December.
Further details are below. We will use a simple score to compose the work while allowing for improvisation too. The artistic director for this work is Andrew Wood. Further details about Oxford Contact Dance: http://www.contactdance.org and Andrew’s dance diary: www.andrewdance.org
Look forward to hearing from you,
Andrew

Library Dance Workshop
Sunday 17 December, 1-4 pm, Oxford University Club
This is a workshop to prepare for our library dance (below) and jam ideas for it. As it’s a library dance then there’s plenty of opportunity for using props: books, chairs, etc. Please bring a couple of books with which to practice! We will use a simple score to compose the work while allowing for improvisation too.
Note: if you completed our Dance Intensive earlier this year or attend several of the our classes this Autumn then you don’t need to have attended the Refresher for Contact Improvisation, otherwise you’ll need to attend the Refresher – see above.
Price: Free!! (But you must be an experienced dancer in Contact Improvisation or attend the Refresher – see above.)
